Question No.: 19175
Submitted By: Glen
Submitted on: September 14, 2009
Subject: mercury chelation

Question:
Hi, I suspect that I have very high mercury levels. Can hair loss be part of mercuries side effects? After having five of seven silver fillings replaced I noticed alot of hair loss. I recently took a product called MMS for killing pathogens in the body and it was said to chelate heavy metals as well. I got much more hair loss after taking the MMS(clorine dioxide). I later figured that the MMS stirred up the heavy metals but did not bind to them to help send then out of my body. Any suggestions? Thanks. Glen

Dr. Cinque's Answer:
I think that the best mercury chelator is DMSA, and there isn't anything else that compares to it. I really can't say whether your hair loss is related to mercury, but I doubt it. And I'll give you the link: DMSA
