Subject: which multi to take?

Question:
hello Dr.Cinque, i'm so pleased to read your informative medical answers. please Dr. Cinque i need your advice about the possibilty for me to consume 24 capsules of VRP's EXTEND ULTRA daily for God knows how long. because i'm worry about the megadoses in it especially vitamin C (almost 4000 mg), however i'm vegan and 28 years old. Thank you.

Dr. Cinque's Answer:
I agree, it's a bit much. We offer such high potency because there are people who want it. Plus, when VRP was founded, there were a lot of people following Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw, who advocated such doses, and likewise Linus Pauling. But no, I don't agree with it, and I take the much lower potency 3-cap Extend Core multi, which I think has an excellent balance, and right where I want to be. I was thinking of writing an article on why I disagree with Linus Pauling about people needing thousands of milligrams of Vitamin C every day, and maybe I will. But it's interesting to note that not even the Linus Pauling Institute in Oregon- which was founded with an endowment from the estate of Linus Pauling- not even they advocate the kind of mega-doses of Vitamin C that he took and recommended.
