Questions and AnswersQuestion No.: 18859 Submitted By: LD Submitted on: March 31, 2009 Subject: jaw necrosis from Actonel Question: do you know why bone loss drugs like Actonel cause the Jaw problems they warn about? Dr. Cinque's Answer: I presume it is because when you inhibit the osteoclasts you interfere with the processes by which proper circulatory channels are maintained within the bones. Why the necrosis affets the jaw in particular, I can't tell you. |
