Question No.: 18761
Submitted By: David
Submitted on: February 23, 2009
Subject: periodontal disease + sebaceous cyst

Question:
What herbal antibiotics can I take to stop peridontal disease, and not have to have surgery? Also what supplements do you advise to take orally to rid myself of a sebaceous oil cyst?

Dr. Cinque's Answer:
You could try Liquid Silver, and I think it's bound to help some. There are herbal anti-microbials like olive leaf extract, grapefruit seed extract, etc., but I have more confidence in the liquid silver. However, the most important thing is that you brush, floss, and water pik daily. In fact, if you did it twice daily, that would be even better. That, plus eating a healthy diet with lots of greens and vegetables is the most important thing. Regarding a sebaceous cyst, I have no reason to think that any supplement is going to resolve that. You could try applying hot compresses every night for a while to see if that opens it up. But in the end, having it treated by a dermatologist may be the only way you can get rid of it.
