Subject: Progesterone on Prop 65?

Question:
I've been using the Her Balance progesterone cream for a few years. Just recently I was reading about progesterone being on the Prop 65 list. This concerns me. What is your opinion of progesterone being on this list. Thank you for your time.

Dr. Cinque's Answer:
I went to their website and I didn't see progesterone listed. But if you find it there or elsewhere, let me know. It would be an awful shame if natural progesterone cream got banned in California (or elsewhere). And if it happens it will just be to protect the interests of the pharmaceutical companies. Progesterone is offered as a prescription drug, although it's usually the synthetic, bio-unidentical form known as Progestin.
