Questions and AnswersQuestion No.: 18392 Submitted By: Anonymous Submitted on: June 27, 2008 Subject: faulty heart valve + angina Question: If I exert myself, I get pain in my chest and usually at the top of my arms, I have to rest to return to normal. I have been diagnosed with a heart valve problem and angina. I have decided against taking any of the NHS treatment/drugs and wondered which products you would recomend many thanks Derek Dr. Cinque's Answer: There's not much you can do for the heart valve problem except surgery, and you'd be crazy to do that unless it was so bad that you had no choice. I see you are in the UK. In the USA, doctors often prescribe bloodthinners such as Coumadin to patients with bad heart valves to guard against clots. If it were me, I would consider low-dose aspirin, and definitely I would take fish oil and turmeric. I would also consder Nattokinase from soy. But I wouldn't start with Coumadin or Plavix or any of those other drugs. For the angina, I wouldn't take any of the drugs that cardiologists use. I would switch to a total plant diet: fruits, greens, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and raw nuts. Maybe have some good clearn fish once or twice a week if you can get it, but no other animal food. And I would take supplements such as CoQ10, Oral Chelator, Resveratrol, and LipiControl, all of which are listed on our Cardiovascular page. I want to stress that even though I think that Natural Medicine can do you the most good, I do think you should be working with a complementary/nutritional doctor and not going it alone. |
