Question No.: 18368

Subject: Lithium orotate vs lithium carbonate

Question:
How effective is Lithium Orotate compared to the prescription drug lithium Carbonate ? Is it worth trying for severe mood swings ?

Dr. Cinque's Answer:
Well, I am not going to say that it is effective for everyone as a replacement for prescription lithium, however, it is one of the top selling supplements on this website, generating lots of repeat orders. So, I have to assume that many people see good results with it. Dr. Ward Dean, our medical director, believes strongly in the value of lithium orotate, as I have discussed it with him. The orotate form of lithium works at a much lower dosage than other forms, and that makes it incredibly safe. I dare say it's worth trying.
