Question No.: 18312
Submitted By: LM
Submitted on: February 18, 2008
Subject: thyroid

Question:
What would you recomend for thyroid problems/low energy?

Dr. Cinque's Answer:
You should see a doctor if you suspect a thyroid problem. I do not recommend self-treatment for that condition. And, as I have said before, I am always reluctant to just recommend something for low energy when I don't know what is causing the low energy? Is it a thyroid or other hormonal problem? Is it an underlying infection? Is it a nutritional deficiency? Is it a sleep disorder? Is it depression? I have no way of knowing. So, you really should see a doctor about that too. A good resource is the American College for Advancement in Medicine because they attract a lot of complementary doctors.
